Bliss Dollhouse
This large R. Bliss dollhouse was produced early in the 20th century. The structure is 23 1/4 inches high, 20 inches wide and 11 inches deep. It is 2 stories with 4 rooms, a 2nd floor balcony, entryway with columns and front railings, two dormers and a gable atop the roof. The distinctive Bliss moniker appears 6 times: on the front of the roof gable, just above the window of the 2nd floor balcony and on both sides of the interior doors. The interior is papered but only the floor papers and the paper covering the doors are original. Old, but not original lace curtains, frame the windows. The original paper , with minor losses and abrasions, remains on the exterior. The right porch railing and end post are replacements as are the chimney and front steps.
