The Italian artist Nicola Simbari was born in San Lucida, Italy and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. He exhibited in London in 1958 and painted a mural for the World's Fair in Bruxelles. His paintings which are semi-abstract, always utilize bright and fresh colors. He received the Gold medal for his work in 1954.
